Phnom Krom Marshland is our highly recommended place for a few hours bird watching in Siem Reap. It is located about 10km south of the town center. This open marshland with paddy fields, ponds, bushes, and grassland, stretches out at the edge of the Great Tonle Sap Lake. It is a great place to find many common bird species, including water birds and waders. We aim to see around 40 bird species on a half-day birding trip near Siem Reap, which can be scheduled for the morning or afternoon

Bird watching is the most interesting adventure tour for tourist in Siem Reap-Angkor, Cambodia.

This is easy and cheap in price. To have a half-day tour (AM the best) to Phnom Krom or Chreav that just 15 km from town with just 20 minutes to reach the place.

You may enjoy and learn excited thing also gorgeous view from a short distance further and there are the paddy-fields and ponds that stretch to the edge of the great Tonle Sap lake, where many species of waders including Pratincole, Cuckoo, Treepie, Jacana, Swamphen and waterfowls. Many bitterns, herons, egrets, storks and even occasionally Pelican can be seen near the lake as well, and there is even the chance of an Adjutant flying over!

Usually the trips start at 5:30am to make the most of the best time of the day for bird-watching, and we will come back around 10:00am as the day become hotter.

Alternatively an afternoon and evening trip can be productive, especially for waders. Departure in the afternoon is 14:30, returning when it becomes too dark to bird! Your own timing is negotiable.
